Sound preparation beneath the visible finish
A smart surface will not stay smart for long if the ground beneath it moves or holds water. We assess levels, access, boundaries and ground conditions, including clay, chalk and gravel. Where the job calls for it, we use geotextile membranes, calibrated MOT Type 1 aggregate and mechanical compaction. Our gallery shows both the finished result and the less glamorous details, such as excavation, edging and drainage, which often decide how well it lasts.
